How this game was chosen (football-pick-of-the-day-window-v1)

It is on the upcoming date with the most games.

  • Each day's Pick of the Day window is open from 00:00 to 24:00 UTC. Its featured game kicks off after the window closes, so every pick is made before the game. A pick also locks at kickoff.
  • Candidates are games not featured before, kicking off on one of the next seven Eastern dates, with a price on both sides from at least 3 sportsbooks. College football features only games between two FBS teams.
  • NFL: if games are played the next Eastern day, one of them is featured, preferring a standalone game (no other game within two hours). Otherwise the featured game comes from the upcoming date with the most games, leaving that date's standalone games for their own windows.
  • College football: a game that kicks off that same evening in New York, at or after the window closes (8:00 p.m. Eastern or later in daylight time), is featured first. Otherwise windows feature games from the upcoming Saturday. Once a week (Monday to Sunday, Eastern), the Tuesday to Friday game priced by the most sportsbooks is featured on the window before its game day, and no other Tuesday to Friday game is featured that week unless no Saturday game is priced.
  • Ties go to the game priced by the most sportsbooks, then the closest market, then the earliest kickoff, then the lowest game id. The rule never reads the Pascal Rating, a forecast, or a result.

Rules (pick-of-the-day-v1)
  • One official Pick of the Day per participant, per sport, per eligible opportunity. It is final once submitted and locks no later than its game’s start.
  • An eligible opportunity is a published Pick of the Day window with games and a qualifying market. Sports that do not play daily get one opportunity per slate, so their streaks count eligible opportunities, not days.
  • Your participation streak grows with every opportunity you pick. Missing an eligible opportunity ends it once that opportunity closes. Your best streak is kept.
  • Results never end a participation streak: wins, losses, pushes, and valid picks later voided because their game was postponed, canceled, or ungradeable all keep it.
  • A pick invalidated for an integrity reason is treated as no valid submission. When that eligible opportunity closes, it ends the participation streak.
  • When Pascal cancels the whole opportunity because there are no eligible games, no qualifying market, the slate is postponed, or Pascal withdraws it, no opportunity existed. It neither extends nor breaks a streak; stored submissions remain audit evidence but are excluded from Pick of the Day summaries.
  • The Pascal Daily Streak counts consecutive days with at least one eligible opportunity on which you picked in any sport.
  • Accuracy is wins divided by wins plus losses. A loss resets your win streak; pushes and voids neither extend nor reset it.
